Through the year we will be scheduling regular Tutored Tasting Evenings as well as numerours 'Meet The Brewer events'

Unless specified otherwise, the Tutored tasting evenings will be hosted by Leigh Norood. Leigh is a member of the British Guild of Beer Writers and is a judge on the International Beer Challenge.

Birthday Week Celebrations:
The return of the Hook Norton/St Austell  ‘Meet the Brewer’ Double Act – Wednesday 8th October - 7.30pm-10.00pm
What better way to celebrate the actual date of our 4th birthday than to welcome back James Clarke and Roger Ryman – the head brewers of Hook Norton and St Austell breweries for a repeat of what is generally considered to have been the very best of the ‘Meet The Brewer’ evenings that we have held in the past four years. Both breweries will be showcasing their superb bottled beers in a mock ‘battle’ of the styles and once again regaling us with some great brewing industry stories.
As this is a special event we have decided that we are going to lay on a bit of a special cheese supper and as such tickets will be £10.00 but they will each be redeemable against £5.00 worth of St Austell or Hook-Norton beers on the evening. Tickets are available now, but be quick because about 30% of them have sold already (and we haven't really publicised it yet!)
Severn Vale Brewery - ‘Meet the Brewer’ event – Friday 10th October - 7.40pm-10.00pm
I was absolutely delighted with the recent union between Cotswold Spring Brewery and Severn Vale Brewery. Both are excellent breweries, but until they combined forces, Steve McDonald was unable to put any of his super beers into bottles. That has now been rectified and Steve, who is one of the most highly respected and much liked brewers in Gloucestershire will be coming along to the shop to tell you all about his fabulous beers (you have got to try Severn Sins!"), his brewery and perhaps his experience of losing the roof of the brewery during February's storms!
Tickets for the event are on sale now for £5.00 but will be redeemable for £5.00 worth of Severn Vale beers on the night.
Big 'Fourth Birthday' Celebration day – Saturday 11th October - 10.30am-7.00pm
As with previous years we are planning for a big celebration Saturday in the shop with tastings, beer related foods, prizes and loads of special offers. So come along  and help us to celebrate the amazing fact that we are still here after four years struggling through the deepest recession in recent history!
Savour Brewery - ‘Meet the Brewer’ event – Friday 24th October - 7.40pm-10.00pm
Sandy Kirkpatrick first contacted me a couple of years ago when his fledgling ‘Savour’ brewery was just beginning and he had produced his first beer – a very pleasant Belgian Style blonde ale. I really loved the beer but thought it would be a bit lost on the shelves on its own, so advised Sandy that when he increased the range I would be delighted to stock them. This he subsequently did, adding a stunning  (and I mean absolutely stunning) Saison to the range along with a really good strong Belgian dark 'Dubbel' beer.
Come along on the 24th and meet Sandy, understand his passion for recreating some of the very best Belgian styles in the UK, hear about his journey and sample his incredible beers – hopefully including his latest Belgian Champagne style beer (think Deus). See: http://www.savourbeer.com/
for more details.
Tickets for the event will be on sale in the next week of so for £5.00 but will be redeemable for £5.00 worth of Savour beers on the night.

Beer and Cider Club

In an effort to enhance the social side of the shop we now hold a monthly ‘Beer and Cider Club’. The idea is to encourage people to come along to the shop, try a few beers/ciders and just chat with other people who are also passionate about what they are drinking. The club meets on the last Thursday of the month between 7.30pm and 10.00pm.  Annual membership of the club is just £8 and that membership entitles you to a 10% discount on any beers/ciders purchased on the club nights and access to other offers. Alternatively – a single evening membership of the club can be purchased at any of the events for just £3, this enables members to bring guests along as and when.

Our aim is to make these evenings informative and friendly, giving people a chance to try things that they may not try at home (e.g. Share an expensive beer amongst a few of you) – there will be free tastings of featured beers, special offers and I hope to get regular guests (brewers, cider makers, beer writers, publicans etc.) along to the evenings to talk about their own passion for the industry.
All of these evenings have been very relaxed and enjoyable – why not come along and join us?
Membership cards are available from the shop now

Upcoming dates of Club Nights are as follows:

Thursday September 25th

Thursday October 30th

Thursday November 27th

Thursday December TBC
